The multi-color choker is a Santo Domingo pattern with a traceable origin: Torevia Crespin's brother Pula Calabaza was one of the first at the pueblo to start making it. Donovan Crespin has seven pieces here and Dorene Calabaza nine. The beads are jet, pipestone, melo shell, spiny oyster and turquoise, sized by eye rather than by caliper.
