Multi-color work mixes the five materials the pueblo has always used: jet (black), pipestone (brown), melo shell (white or orange), spiny oyster shell (dark orange or red) and turquoise, with serpentine for green. Jose Rosetta cuts the plain heishi that many of the other artists build on, and Chery and Donovan Crespin and the Calabaza family string the multi-strand pieces.
