Meet the artist

The Calabaza Family

The Calabaza family of Santo Domingo (Kewa) Pueblo has made jewelry for Windmill over the years: Dorene, Lupita and Emery. Dorene’s multi-color chokers, necklaces and bracelets are made by hand from jet, pipestone, melo shell, olive shell, coral, serpentine and turquoise.

Lupita’s inlaid shell work is here too, with blue Kingman turquoise and silver set into an orange pecten shell. Look at the individual listing for the materials and measurements of the piece you’re considering.
